Getting started

1. 01

   Open Manage

   Choose the PittoPalette icon in the menu bar, then open Manage. This is where you add items and change settings.

   Save what you use

   Add text, images, URLs, apps and commands, then organise them with folders and labels that fit your work.

   Call it up with a shortcut

   Check the Ring Menu and List Menu shortcuts in Settings, then choose an item without leaving the app you are working in.

Common problems

An item is copied to the clipboard instead of being pasted

Putting an entry straight into another app needs PittoPalette Helper, a free companion app. Install it by following the steps on the PittoPalette Helper page and allow Accessibility. Without it the entry still reaches the clipboard, so you can paste it with Command-V. Clipboard history does not need this permission.

A shortcut does not open its menu

In Settings > General > Shortcuts, confirm that the shortcut is enabled. If another PittoPalette feature or a different app uses the same shortcut, record a different combination of a modifier and a regular key.

An item is missing from clipboard history

Check that Save History is enabled in Clipboard History and that the source app is not excluded. Enable Save Image History too if you want to keep images. Content that an app marks as concealed, transient or automatically generated is intentionally not saved.

A command item does not behave as expected

Commands run through /bin/zsh inside App Sandbox, so available files and environment settings may differ from Terminal. Keep required files in a folder you selected for PittoPalette and use explicit paths in the command.

I want to move or restore my settings and saved items

Open Data Tools in Manage to export a backup and import it on another Mac. Clipboard history moves only when you choose to include it during both export and restore. Automatic backups are configured in Settings > Backups.
